Course Description

The course will consider and evaluate the evidence base on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.

The course starts by looking at definitions of mental health and wellbeing and the links between work and mental health. We will also consider factors in the workplaces which can be challenges to mental health. We will then look at organisational culture and consider the links between culture and mental health and wellbeing.

The second half of the course looks at how we can build mentally healthy workplaces at an individual, team and systemic level. This is followed by how we can support mental health difficulties and challenges in the workplace.

Learning will be supported by real life examples and case studies to consider how the evidence can be applied in the workplace.

There will also be weekly discussion boards to reflect on the learning and how this relates to and can be applied in your own workplace/real-life settings.
