Course Description

This course will explore theoretical and practical aspects of sound design in a wide range of film and media, particularly focusing on new media, such as games and interactive platforms.

By the end of the course, students will:

  • be able to demonstrate theoretical knowledge and understanding of sound design;
  • be able to acquire a wide range of practical and technical possibilities in sound design;
  • have a general understanding of audio processing based on the basic digital signal processing techniques;
  • be able to create a portfolio of sound design work targeting different media.

Further Information & Notes

This course is for MMus sonic arts students. While other masters student can take the course, they are expected to have a basic to intermediate knowledge of audio/sound technology and/or some basic programming experience (in any language).
