Early Career Researcher Forum

Early Career Researcher Forum

The Early Career Researcher Forum (ECRF) aims to help all postgraduate students and post-doctoral researchers progress in their future careers. We hold monthly meetings where we discuss a variety of topics relating to academia at the post-grad level, and beyond. It is led and organized by one or two ECRF members, and leadership roles change annually in order to increase opportunities for others.

The mix of MRes, PhD and post-docs means that the group offers a chance for students to talk with fellow researchers at the next stage of their career about the practicalities of working in academia. We also invite senior staff members and alumni to the meetings to speak on specific topics such as career planning and job talks.
