Code of Practice for Research Students

There are specific Codes of Practice with which our postgraduate students must be familiar.  The Code of Practice for Postgraduate Research Students is available in the PGR section of the Academic Quality Handbook and gives you and your supervisor guidance on how to manage the PhD, what is expected of you both and contains information on many important topics including:

  • roles and responsibilities of the student, the supervisors and the School
  • formal aspects of the progress of research students
  • writing up, submission of thesis and examination
  • resolving problems
  • appeals
  • plagiarism and cheating
