Sarah's research interests focuses on how patent laws regarding the patentability of human genetic subject matter can be more harmonised at a global level taking into account the current diversification in patent law regimes and the territorial nature of patent law. This will be achieved by exploring a comparative analysis of the current patent regimes across some key countries in the Global North and proposing a further clarification on 'novelty' and 'inventive step' at the Global level.
