Biography

I am a highly motivated individual who is passionate about teaching, research, and contributing to knowledge around food, rural development, and agricultural practices. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics and Extension and a Master's degree in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development. I began my professional academic journey in November 2019 at the University of Uyo, Nigeria, where I engaged in teaching, research, mentorship, and community outreach programmes. Currently, I am undertaking a PhD in Geography and Environment at the School of Geosciences, University of Aberdeen.

My research focus is on "Upscaling Alternative Food Networks for Food System Sustainability in Scotland". This research deepens my long-standing interest in sustainable food systems and the socio-economic dynamics that shape rural and urban food production, distribution, and consumption, allowing me to examine innovative approaches that foster resilience and sustainability in food systems.

My interdisciplinary background, combining agricultural extension, rural development, and human geography, equips me with a unique perspective on addressing contemporary food system challenges. I am committed to leveraging research, teaching, and community engagement to drive impactful solutions that support sustainable agricultural practices, strengthen rural economies, and foster inclusive food networks.
