Biography

Moon is a Government Employee under the Ministry of Home Affairs in Bangladesh. Currently she is a PhD student sponsored by the Honourable Prime Minister's Fellowship Programme, People's Republic of Bangladesh.

She is interested in Women Empowerment, Gender Equality, Women's Development and Digitalization, Cyber Gender Harassment. Currently she is doing research on cyber media trolling against Bangladeshi women. Particularly she is looking at the harassment of bloggers and vloggers who are dealing with linguistic harassment on and off in their way of going forwards- the pursuit of free thinking and utiliging digital platform for earning a living, for example. She is applying qualitative methodology in the mode of content analysis and in-depth semi-structured interview using netnography and visual ethnography in order to see to what extent online harassment affect women's participation in the digital space.

Earlier Moon had her MSc. in International Development from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, UK. She did her undergrad and M.A. in English Literature and Linguistics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Moon started her career as a journalist at an English National Daily in Bangladesh. She also had some experience of teaching at a private University. Later she joined Bangladesh Civil Service and now working for Ministry of Home Affairs, Bangladesh.
