Biography
Beverley is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Aberdeen, School of Law. Her research interests are centred around legal and regulatory frameworks that inform energy security and energy governance of states. She relies on interdisciplinary concepts from the fields of international relations and international security to make sense of strategic choices of state actors.
Beverley is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Oil and Gas from the University of Aberdeen and a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Peace Studies and International Relations from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA). She also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the same university and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Beverley is currently a Legal Adviser at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), United Kingdom. Prior to joining DESNZ, she worked at the Ministry of Justice (United Kingdom) as a Legal Adviser. She has previously worked at the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice in Kenya as a State Counsel under the Treaties and Agreements Department and the Legal Advisory and Research Division (LARD).
