Biography
Brian was appointed Director of Digital & Information Services (DIS) in November 2017, following a successful 2 year period as Director of IT Services. DIS deliver a wide range of institutional services across IT Services, Library Services, Museums & Special Collections, Cyber Security and Information Governance.
Brian joined the University in 2007 and has now been in HE management positions for over 25 years. Prior to the University of Aberdeen, Brian held the role of Assistant Director, Head of User Services, at the University of Strathclyde.
Brian has recently held various national sector roles at a Scottish and UK level and currently works with Scottish Government and other sector bodies in developing the national cyber security posture.
Brian has a BSc in Computing from Napier University, and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde.
