Biography

 

Alyaa Mostafa graduated in Medicine at Faculty of Medicine Kasr Al Ainy - Cairo University in 1997 and had training in obstetrics and gynaecology, then joined the University of Aberdeen in 2009.Currently she is a research fellow in urogynecology following obtaining of her MD for her thesis on “evaluation of single incision mini- slings in surgical management of female stress urinary incontinence” after submission in 2014. As a researcher in Urogynaecology, her primary objective is to investigate various effective and safe treatments for lower urinary tract dysfunction and urinary incontinence in women. She is now works in a big randomised trial (SIMS) for evaluation of mid-urethral slings in management of SUI in women.  She is interested in medical education and obtained post graduate certificate in medical education 2016. She is a tutor for SSC1 and SSC3. Also, she supervises students' medical elective and intercalated BSc projects. She involves in teaching 3rd and 4th year medical students. She is a supervisor and responsible for the Physician associate students (PA) students O&G attachment and teaching. Currantly, Alyaa Mostafa is Year 3 Deputy Lead Coordinator and Year 3 OSCE lead.
