Biography

I have been a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Business Management at the University of Aberdeen since 2010 lecturing in a range of areas in the Discipline of Business Management but one of my primary focuses has been Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility.

My original fields of interest were in Social Anthropology and Sociology which perhaps explains my interests in culture, globalization, business ethics and corporate social responsibility. The subject of my PhD was on the maintenance of cultural identity in relation to a globalizing world.

Having previously worked as a consultant helps me to bring practical insight into many areas of Business Management and particularly the undergraduate course in change management and consultancy to which I contribute.

I currently hold the Role of Deputy Director of Postgraduate Studies for the Business School and that of Academic Line Manager. I am also the MBA and MBA Energy Programme Leader.

I am an active member of the Business School’s Athena SWAN committee and was very pleased when the school achieved the Bronze Award, we are currently working towards Silver.

I am a Senator on the university’s Senatus Academicus representing the Business School at this body which is responsible for all academic matters relating to teaching and research at the University of Aberdeen.
