Rhynie 2012: A New Season, A New Blog!

As excavations at Rhynie begin for another year, staff and students 'blog' all the news and new finds from the site.

Beginning in 2005, University of Aberdeen's Rhynie Environs Archaeology Project (REAP) has seen a lot of exciting fieldwork - including an excavation around the base of the famous Craw Stane, a Class I Pictish symbol stone, in 2011. The 2012 season continues this work around the base of the stone exploring the original context of one of the most enigmatic and beautiful carved monuments in Aberdeenshire.

Check out the progress of the excavation, get regular updates from staff and students, and see sneaky pics of freshly unearthed finds on our new online blog!
