Several members of the Health Services Research Unit, including Trial Managers, are currently in Edinburgh to attend the Edinburgh Clinical Trials Management Course (ECTMC).
The objective of this course is to provide an introduction to the management of randomised control trials (RCTS), by giving an overview of the standard processes and legal requirements necessary to undertake clinical research.
Made up of a range of workshops, practical tasks and lectures, these interactive sessions cover key topics described in the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Trials Toolkit Routemap, facilitating discussion, information exchange and networking opportunities.
The course is relevant to individuals currently involved in the management of RCTs, including trials assistants, trial coordinators, projects assistants and clinical research staff, as well as those who are new to the clinical research field.
