Dr Gibson is a Lord Kelvin Adam Smith Research Fellow in the School of Chemistry at the University of Glasgow. Her research interests lie in applying synchrotron techniques and vibrational spectroscopy to study heterogeneous catalysts during reaction. She also develops combined techniques, i.e. performing XAFS and DRIFTS studies simultaneously to study solid-gas phase reactions. To extend this to investigate 3-phase catalytic reactions, she is commissioning an attenuated total reflection (ATR-FTIR) set up in Glasgow with an aim to develop a version compatible for X-ray techniques.

If you would like to meet with the speaker please contact the local host.

All are welcome to attend, and to circulate this email to those who may be interested.
