Professor John Brown is Honorary Professor responsible for our course on Astrophysics. He is Astronomer Royal for Scotland and also Regius Professor of Astronomy at the University of Glasgow.
Professor Thomas Redpath is in the Radiology section of the College of Life Sciences and Medicine. He is based at the MRI Centre at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where his main research interest is the development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques to aid diagnosis in, and improve treatment of, patients with cancer and heart disease.
Professor Peter Sharp is former Head of the Department of Biomedical Physics and Bioengineering at the University of Aberdeen and has managerial responsibility in the Aberdeen Royal Hospitals NHS Trust. He is a graduate of Durham and Aberdeen Universities, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. His main research interests are in the application of physics to medical imaging and nuclear medicine.
Professor Andy Welch has research interests in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and is responsible for the Tracer Development Facility and the Pre-Clinical PET/CT facility at Foresterhill Hospital.
