Saturday 4 May 2013, 6pm-10pm. All ages welcome, FREE
Calling all Arctic adventurers, global gallivanters and safari seekers. The University of Aberdeen needs savvy survivors and intrepid investigators with a thirst for excitement! Come and join us for a thrilling and action packed evening of exploration and discovery. Don’t forget to get your passport stamped!
The highly anticipated Night at the Museums is back with a bang for 2013! It’s not every day you have the opportunity to work alongside professional artists or come face to face with snakes, tarantulas and all manner of beasties - but visitors to the University of Aberdeen Museums on Saturday 4 May will have the chance to experience just that.
The evening will be packed with crafts, survival and bush craft challenges, fitness fun in the gardens, museum trails and quizzes, explorer bingo, live animals, competitions, games, a safari photo station, ‘hands on archaeology’ workshops, garden tours and not forgetting the fantastic museum exhibitions and displays!
The Special Collections Library Gallery will be showcasing a global travellers’ exhibition, while at King’s Museum visitors will explore the Arctic through Alaskan archaeology. Visitors will encounter wild animals in the Zoology Museum, uncover the exploits of plant hunters in the Natural History Centre, and hone their survival skills in the Cruickshank Gardens.
