Hana Svobodová, Medical School, Charles University Prague

Hana Svobodová is a graduate of the School of Philosophy, Charles University Prague (teaching – care of patients, Mgr.), and PhD student in the Medical School, Charles University Prague (medical ethics). She has long practice as a coronary unit nurse in Vinohrady University Hospital and as a teacher of nursing clinical practice at Nursing School Ruská, Prague. From 2001 she taught in the Medical School, and has been Head of the Nursing Department since 2007. Since 2010, she has cooperated with Czech Ministry of Health as a member of the Transformation Committee for Reform of the Non-physician Fields Education. She has participated in the international COHEHRE Study (Consortium of Higher Education in Health and Rehabilitation in Europe) “Discharge of elderly people 80+ from acute hospitals”.

František Vlček, Lead Scientist, Public Health, Medical School, Charles University Prague

František Vlček is a graduate of the Medical School, Charles University Prague (General Medicine, MUDr.) and Department of Public Health, Palacký University Olomouc (Ph.D.). He has worked as the quality and patient safety manager in Central Military Hospital Prague before becoming deputy director of the Czech Accreditation Committee. He teaches at the Department of Public Health, Medical School, Charles University Prague, cooperates with the Ministry of Health, in the field of quality and patient safety measurement, and is a representative of the Ministry for the Patient Safety Subgroup of OECD. He has coordinated the MARQuIS and DUQuE projects for the Czech republic, and conducted research in the field of human resource management, quality and performance measurement in health care and others.

Marie Zvoníčková, School of Philosophy, Charles University Prague

Marie Zvoníčkováis a graduate of School of Philosophy, Charles University Prague and teaches care of patients. Her PhD was in nursing at St. Elizab the School of Health and Social Work, Bratislava, Slovak Republic. She has considerable experience as practicing nurse in Czech Republic and the USA (1993-1995). She is a member of the Non-physician Healthcare Fields Accreditation Committee of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. She has participated in the international COHEHRE Study (Consortium of Higher Education in Health and Rehabilitation in Europe) “Discharge of elderly people 80+ from acute hospitals”.

Daniel Hodyc, Charles University Prague

Daniel Hodyc is a medical doctor and an economist, partner and co-founder of Advance Healthcare Management Institute. In his undergraduate studies he specalised in health services management at University of Economics, Prague. In 2007-2009 he participated as a consultant for the Ministry of Healthcare at the implementation of DRG in reimbursement of acute hospital care and established an HTA agency . As a consultant for KlientPRO Company he creates and administers group contracts between general practitioners and health insurance companies.

Dr Pavel Hrobon

Pavel Hrobonis a former medical doctor and founder and managing partner of the Advance Healthcare Management Institute which specialises in executive training in healthcare. He has previosuly worked for the Ministry of Healthcare as a deputy of the Minister responsible for health insurance, drugs and medical devices. In 1994-95 he studied medical policy and healthcare management at Harvard University in the USA, and worked as a consultant of McKinsey&Company in several European countries. His main field of interest is healthcare and financial institutions. He is one of the founders and a former chair of the board of directors of the citizen-action public Healthcare Reform, and a member of European Healthcare Innovation Leadership network.

Members of the Czech Republic Expert Advisory Group consist of the following:

David Marx, MD, PhD.

Graduated at the 1st School of Medicine, Charles University in Prague 1984. Since that he works as a pediatrician at the University Teaching Hospital Kralovske Vinohrady in Prague. Since 1993 is involved in the quality improvement in health care. He is an advisor to the Vice Chair, Committee for Internal Trade and Consumer Protection European Parliament. At the 3rd Medical School he serves as a vicedean for undergraduate education and study affairs.

Pavel Hroboň, MD, M.S.

Former occupation as a doctor, he is the founder and a managing partner of Advance Healthcare Management Institute which specialises in executive training in healthcare. Until July 2009 he worked for the Ministry of Healthcare CR as a deputy of the Minister responsible for health insurance, drugs and medical devices. In 1994-95 he studied medical policy and healthcare management at the Harvard University in the USA. After his return he taught at the 2nd Medical Faculty and the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University in Prague.

In 1998-2002 he worked as a consultant of McKinsey&Company in several European countries. His main field of interest was healthcare and financial institutions. From 2002 to 2005 he worked for the Public Health Insurance Company CR as an adviser and a strategy director. Pavel is one of the founders and a former chair of the board of directors of the citizen-action public Healthcare Reform - forum.cz which prepared and in the end of 2005 also published a complex proposal of the Czech healthcare reform. He is a member of European Healthcare Innovation Leadership Network.

MUDr. Ing. Daniel Hodyc, Ph.D.

Doctor and an economist, internal lector, partner and co-founder of Advance Healthcare Management Institute. Daniel studied medicine in the 2nd Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague and economy with specialisation on health services management at University of Economics, Prague. In 2007-2009 he participated as a consultant for the Ministry of Healthcare at the implementation of DRG in reimbursement of acute hospital care and prepared a project of development of health technology assessment and establishing an HTA agency in CR. As a consultant for KlientPRO Company he creates and administers group contracts between general practitioners and health insurance companies.

Alena Šmídová, RN, MSN

Since 2010 a head of the subdivision for allid health professions of the department for science and education of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. Originally she is a nurse and a nursing teacher. In 2007-2010 she worked as a Chief nursing officer for State Prison Service.
