Five PhD Project Grants available to start in October 2015
3-Year PROJECT GRANTS for PhD students
Applications are invited for PhD projects that will start in October 2015. PhD candidates will be selected from a cohort of international students completing the MRes in Medical Mycology and Fungal Immunology at the University of Aberdeen. The grant will fund the student’s stipend, home/EU tuition fees and research expenses for three years. Host institutions must agree to waive the overseas/international component of the tuition fees.
The project must: investigate an important fungal pathogen of humans, promote cross-disciplinary activity and address one of the strategic award’s priority areas;
- antifungal drugs, including drug development
- diagnostics, including development
- Immunology and disease processes
Tenured members of staff at UK universities or research institutes are eligible to apply. Cross-institutional projects are also encouraged.
