More Lunchtime Treats for Music Lovers

Date: 28 April 2000
Our ref: 609

University Music resumes its lunchtime music series, providing music lovers a special lunchtime treat with free recitals at various locations throughout the city during May as part of University Music’s outreach programme.   Collections taken at the concerts will benefit Roxburghe House, a specialist palliative care unit offering support for patients and their families both in hospital and at home.

The University of Aberdeen’s Music Department (University Music) offers the city of Aberdeen a unique opportunity to hear recitals at times that easily fit into the lunch hour.

All recitals will be at 1:10 pm and will last approximately one half hour.

On Tuesday, 2nd May,  the baritone John McFadzean and Dr. Roger Williams on piano will perform Vaughan Williams’ “Songs of Travel” at Elphinstone Hall, King’s College campus, Old Aberdeen.

On Tuesday, 9th May, music students from the University of Aberdeen will perform a lunchtime concert featuring bassoon and two violins.  Moira McInnes will perform on bassoon and Aileen Ward and Ruth Lunny will perform on violin.

Admission is free and open to the public.
