More Lunchtime Treats for Music Lovers

Date: 17 April 2000
Our ref: 595

University Music resumes its lunchtime music series, providing music lovers a special lunchtime treat with free recitals at various locations throughout the city during April as part of University Music’s outreach programme.   Collections taken at the concerts will benefit Roxburghe House, a specialist palliative care unit offering support for patients and their families both in hospital and at home.

The University of Aberdeen’s Music Department (University Music) offers the city of Aberdeen an unique opportunity to hear recitals at times that easily fit into the lunch hour.

All recitals will be at 1:10 pm and will last approximately one half hour.

On Tuesday, 18th April, a keyboard duo on organ and harpsichord will be played by Dr. David Smith and Dr. Roger Williams of University Music at St. Mary’s Carden Place.  Featured music will be by Tomkins, Luchinetti, and Krebs.

On Tuesday, 25th April, Dr. Smith and Dr. Williams will perform on recorder and harpsichord music by Phillips, Handel and Telemann at St. Andrew’s Cathedral on King Street.
