Hear readings from two vibrant North East writers.

Talented, prolific and much-loved, Sheena Blackhall writes poetry, stories and ballads in North East Scots and English. Aberdeen Makar since 2009, she has recently translated The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Of Mice and Men, and Jane Eyre into Doric. Shane Strachan regularly entertains audiences with short stories, his Doric comic novel Quines at Sea and drama The Shelter, inspired by Aberdeen bus-shelters. Shane’s recent work includes Nevertheless, stories about Muriel Spark’s time in Aberdeen’s twin-city Bulawayo, and contributions to LGBTQ anthology We Were Always Here.
