Rebecca joined the team during summer 2012 working on the harbour seal long term monitoring study. She visits Loch Fleet on a daily basis to carry out shore-based photo-identification surveys and counts during the breeding season. The images and data gathered are used to identify individual seals and to gain further insight into seal ecology and population trends.
In 2007 Rebecca graduated from the University of Leeds with a Zoology degree and then went on to complete an MSc at the University of Nottingham. She has since spent time as a Research Assistant at the British Antarctic Survey carrying out image analysis for the South Georgia Fur Seal Census and on St Kilda as a fieldwork assistant with the Soay Sheep Project, University of Edinburgh.
