We have a printer and 4 dedicated PCs for NHS staff use on Floor 1 of the library. NHS staff can also access the NHS network from the PCs in the Suttie Centre.
Paul Manson is the NHS Clinical Librarian. He is based in Room 1:091 on Floor 1 of the Medical Library. Paul is the lead for NHSG Library and Knowledge Service's training programme and supports staff carrying out literature searches, e.g. to find evidence to support/change clinical practice or service delivery.
NHS Grampian staff can join the University Library and borrow material. (The Library is open for reference purposes to everyone).
NHS Grampian staff can join in person at any site, although you will probably find it easier if you register at the Medical Library. You will need your ID badge as proof of identity and we will ask for proof of the length of your contract, so we can make your membership last as long as you need it. You will be given a Library reader card with a barcode unique to you. This should be given to library staff whenever you borrow an item.
Library membership entitles you to borrow from the University Library, but not (unless you also have a University contract) to use the networked computing facilities. For more details of membership for NHS Grampian staff, please contact us. NHS Scotland employees also have access to The Knowledge Network, a digital library of electronic databases, journals, books and guidelines.
