This is a past event

On the 14 December 1789 James McGrigor and eleven other students founded the Aberdeen Medical Society (renamed the Aberdeen Medico-Chirurgical Society in 1811) to compensate for the lack of medical teaching offered by both King's and Marischal Colleges.

McGrigor went on to become Chief of the Medical Staff of the Peninsular Army under the command of Wellington. UoA Collections are delighted to present an online talk by Tom Scotland about McGrigor’s “Adventurous Life” to celebrate the founding of Med-Chi and looking forward to the 250th anniversary of his birth in April 2021.
