Areas in which we can offer supervision are listed on our Research page.

All research students are provided with:

  • First Supervisor, with whom he or she meets regularly for critical discussion and guidance.
  • Second Supervisor; normally only involved at progression stages after year 1 and 2.
  • Access to the internet and to legal databases such as Westlaw and Lexis.
  • Access to printing and photocopying facilities.
  • University email account.

Research students participate in the Core Skills for Research Students course in their first year of study. Classes take place on campus during the first semester of study and attendance at every session is compulsory.

We have recently introduced a distance PhD programme. Students must demonstrate their ability to study independently without the support of the Law School campus community.

NB At any point in your studies, samples of your work may be passed through originality checking software.
