Oil and Minerals for Good Conference
-

This is a past event

The Aberdeen University Centre for Energy Law (AUCEL) is leading  dedicated and innovative multidisciplinary studies and research into how oil, mining and other minerals resources could be used by governments, industry and others, to produce development, equity and other positive outcomes. This is in contrast to the fabled “Resource Curse” – minerals resources producing negative outcomes of poverty, poor economic growth, corruption, conflicts, stunted development and wars. The conference will present and discuss latest and innovative approaches on the subject.

This conference will allow the opportunity for University of Aberdeen postgraduate students from over 20 countries to present their work and innovative approaches to this fascinating and topical subject.

The discussants will also include University of Aberdeen Faculty: Dr Mark Osa Igiehon, Professor John Paterson, Professor Hilary Homans, Dr Sola Kasim, Emre Usenmez, and Dr Monica Waloszyk.
