Law School Merit Scholarships
There are three Law School Merit Scholarships available. The Law School Merit Scholarships offer £6,000 to support two postgraduate students from any country and one postgraduate student from England, Wales or Northern Ireland through a one year full time Master of Laws (taught) programme at the University of Aberdeen, starting in September 2017. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Apply by 30th June 2017.
CB Davidson Fund
The CB Davidson Fund provides limited financial support for postgraduate students (Taught and Research) within the Law School. It provides financial support for graduates in law from outside the UK to study in Aberdeen and for students and graduates of the University of Aberdeen who wish to travel outside of the UK for research purposes. Awards, except in exceptional circumstances, will not exceed £2,500 and in most instances will be less. The closing dates for applications to the CB Davidson Fund are 31st March and 30th September each year.
Aberdeen Alumni Discount
The University of Aberdeen Alumni Discount Schemeoffers a 20% discount in postgraduate tuition fees for all alumni who have graduated with a degree from the University of Aberdeen and who wish to pursue a further programme of academic study at the University of Aberdeen.
The Carnegie Trustoffers bursaries to Scottish students planning on undertaking a taught Masters programme.
Scottish Funding Council
The Scottish Funding Counciloffers a number of scholarships for full-waiver of tuition fees for a range of popular postgraduate taught programmes for Scottish/non-UK EU students.
British Funding Council
The British Funding Council administers the Chevening Scholarships, which support outstanding graduates wishing to study in the UK. The British Council also administers the Scottish International Scholarship Programme, which is open to permanent residents of China, India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand or Singapore who wish to study for a Masters degree in Scotland. You should note, however, that priority will be given to courses in science and technology and creative industries.
Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan
The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan offers some support to students from former and present Commonwealth countries.
Vikram Reddy Memorial Scholarship:
The Vikram Reddy Memorial Scholarship offers £1,000 to support one postgraduate student from the United Kingdom through a one year full time Master of Laws (taught or research) programme at the University of Aberdeen, starting in September 2017. Apply by June 30th 2017
Robert & Elizabeth Mitchell Scholarship
The Robert and Elizabeth Mitchell Law Scholarship will support one postgraduate student from the United Kingdom through a one year full time Master of Laws programme at the University of Aberdeen, starting in September 2017. This will cover Home or RUK tuition fees up to the value of £7,400. Apply by 30th June 2017
James Carnegie Scholarship
The James Carnegie Scholarship is open to full time students commencing their postgraduate degree course in September 2017. The Scholarship is valued at £2,000 per annum for the duration of the postgraduate degree course, whether that is a one year Masters, PhD (3 years) or Masters by Research leading to a PhD (4 years). The Scholarship is open to both UK/EU and International students. Apply by 31st May 2017
Regional Scholarship- Oil and Gas industry employees
This Regional Scholarship offers assistance to workers left unemployed as a result of the downturn in the oil and gas sector by offering a 20% discount across these Law Master’s programmes:-
