Canadian Institutes of Health funding for new cancer drugs

Drugs targeting the GPR55 receptor are being developed for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer in a partnership with the University of Toronto

Congratulations to Dr Iain Greig and our co-founder, Professor Ruth Ross (now at the University of Toronto, heading the Dept of Pharmacology and Toxicology, as well as the Centre for Collaborative Drug Research), who have received an award worth over $200k for the development of drugs targeting GPR55.  These drugs may help prevent the growth of breast tumours, whilst also preventing the tumours from spreading to bone.
