IT Account Closure

IT Account Closure

Congratulations on reaching the end of your studies!

In all the excitement of graduation week, don’t forget that from 19 November 2018 onwards, your student IT account will be closed and your ID card will expire.

What does this mean?

Once this has happened, you will have no access to: eduroam wireless network, personal filespace (your H drive), MyAberdeen, printers, Student Hub, and more.

What you need to do

Personal filespace (H drive) and MyAberdeen, MyMBChB, etc.

  • Once your account is closed, you will not be able to access files in these locations.
  • You must copy all files you still need from your H drive, MyAberdeen, MyMBChB, MyBDS, MyPA, or MyMedSci to your personal device or other storage before your account closes.

Printing

  • Once your account is closed, you will not be able to print.
  • We cannot refund any remaining credit in your print budget.

Wi-Fi

  • You will no longer have access to eduroam. We recommend you delete this connection from your personal devices.

Building access

  • You will no longer have swipe card access to University buildings.

Office365 applications

If you installed MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) onto your personal device as part of the University’s Microsoft Office 365 agreement, then you will have a 30-day grace period before your subscription expires.

  • After the 30-day period, you won’t be able to use Word, Excel, etc. so you must copy any files that you want to keep onto your personal device or other storage.
  • To continue to use MS Office to edit your files, you will need to purchase a personal copy from a retailer.
