Service Description

The ownCloud service’s primary role is to facilitate data sharing between Aberdeen University researchers and external collaborators. It provides a safe, secure, and trackable file synchronization and sharing solution on servers owned and managed by University of Aberdeen. Users can share one or more files and folders from their computer, and synchronize them with the ownCloud server, place files in their local ownCloud directories, or via the web interface, and those files are then synchronized to the server and to other devices using the ownCloud Desktop Sync Client, Android app, or iOS app. Users need to register with the Directorate of Digital and Information Services (DDIS) and be enabled for this service.
