UPDATE : Foresterhill telephones - Monday 1 February

Update on FH telephony problems

What is happening?

The telephony problem is affecting multiple University buildings at Foresterhill, not just the buildings stated in our earlier email.

Please ensure that you are not in an active call at noon today otherwise your phone call may end suddenly and without any warning. This is because we are rebooting servers.

One of the University telephone controllers has failed. Our engineers are working to fix the fault, though as this is a hardware failure it will take some time to recover service. At present 320 University analogue telephones are not working and a further 350 IP telephones are at risk due to the problem.

We will provide a further update this afternoon with progress on the telephone repair.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
