Restricted availability of some computing services on Saturday 11 September 09:00-17:00, Wednesday 15 September 17:30-19:00, and Thursday 16 September 17:00-19:00
UPDATE
The upgrade to the campus network service was originally scheduled to occur on Sunday 12th September 2010, however, in order to ensure the least downtime this work has now been split in to two smaller maintenance periods on 15 and 16 September - see below for details.
What is happening?
DIT Service Engineers need to carry out essential maintenance and upgrades to both the campus network service in the Edward Wright Building/University Office and the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) in the Polwarth Building Data Centre. The upgrade to the UPS in the Polwarth Building is scheduled to occur on Saturday 11 September 2010 and the maintenance and upgrade to the campus network service is scheduled to occur on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 September.
Consequently, there will be periods of restricted availability of some computing services, lasting around 5-15 minutes each time, while DIT engineers are carrying out these activities.
The work on Saturday 11 September will run 09:00-17:00 the same day, only services provisioned from the Medicine domain at Foresterhill will be affected - a detailed view of services is shown below.
