Work scheduled for Thursday 26 February, between 04:00 and 08:00
What is happening?
Yesterday we wrote to you explaining that we had to perform an essential upgrade to hardware supporting shared departmental filespace. This brief upgrade has completed successfully. We also notified you that there would be a further outage that was scheduled to take place on Sunday 22 February. However, due to some technical issues that came to light this as a result of this morning's exercise we are forced to push back this work until the morning of Thursday 26 February from 04:00-08:00.
What should you do?
During this period we would recommend that you do not use this service, as you may experience disconnections on your shared departmental drives. If you should choose to continue working you should regularly save your work and in the event of the shared departmental filespace not being available you should save your work temporarily on a local store i.e. the C drive, until the service becomes available again.
This will affect all shared filespace that are stored on network drives located at \uoacass, \uoafs and \v-exa eg. R, S and T drives.
