Email, Junk, and Clutter

Email, Junk, and Clutter

Remember to check your Junk and Clutter folders frequently

Remember to check your Junk and Clutter folders frequently. Sometimes genuine messages are delivered there.

What is happening?

In order to protect the University and reduce the number of junk email messages delivered to your inbox we have strengthened the Outlook junk mail filtering system. As a result of this, legitimate mail may occasionally end up in your Junk Mail folder. Please remember to check this folder from time to time to ensure you don’t miss any genuine communication. It is also a good idea to check your Clutter folder once in a while for the same reasons.

What should you do?

If emails from a certain sender keep ending up in your junk folder, you can exclude the sender manually by: right-clicking the email => Junk => Never Block Sender

Remember to be vigilant with email and not to open emails or click on any links that look suspicious.

Contact the IT Service Desk if you have any concerns.
