Cell and Developmental Biology
Life-long health begins in the embryo and is impacted on throughout life by a multitude of factors, including tissue growth, remodelling and degeneration. More than ever we need to understand the complex interplay between these processes important for normal health.
Our basic, applied and translational research is investigating the ways in which normal and abnormal embryonic, foetal and postnatal development, receptor trafficking and gene regulation impact on human development, health and disease. This world-class research will inform the provision of better care for patients, including the generation of more effective and safer drugs.
