The Institute of Education for Medical and Dental Sciences offers postgraduate and undergraduate degree programmes as well as a range of short courses. The Institute also leads pedagogic research and innovation and the educational governance across the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition. Programmes offered by the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition are:

Medicine (MBChB)

Students in Aberdeen have the opportunity to study medicine in a thriving medical school that is co-located on one of the largest clinical sites in Europe with superb teaching and extensive research facilities.

Gateway2Medicine (CertHE)

Our Gateway2Medicine (G2M) programme has been designed to transform the aspirations and ambitions of secondary school pupils from widening access backgrounds in Scotland who want to study medicine.

Dentistry (BDS)

At Aberdeen we run a graduate entry pathway which allows for direct entry into year 2 of the BDS degree. The programme is then completed in four years.  20 places are available each year.  To find out more, visit the Institute of Dentistry's website by clicking the link below.

Medical Sciences (BSc/MSci)

Our Medical Sciences programmes are taught with the flexibility to provide students with a solid ground to enter a professional career, to undertake research or step forward to Postgraduate Study.

Postgraduate (Taught)

The programmes are shaped to ensure that students benefit from flexibility in their study choices, relevant content, valuable career enhancing skills and an enjoyable learning experience.

Physician Associate (MSc)

Physician Associates are a new and rapidly growing group of graduate healtcare professionals in the UK.  The role of the PA is designed to supplement the medical workforce, ultimately improving patient access.
