General Practice Teaching

Years 1, 2 and 3

Students are allocated to a GP Practice where they will attend in small groups. This allows students access to the General Practice, its staff and methods of working. Each practice tutor provides small group tutorials on key areas of General Practice in addition to sessions held at the Foresterhill campus. Teaching is provided in a various forms from small group teaching, lectures, online and self directed study

GP Enhanced

During the first 3 years of the MBChB course you will be offered various opportunities as part of the GP Enhanced progamme. This includes GP-led case study sessions as part of the systems teaching, as well as different extra-curricular sessions. These have all been carefully designed to help integrate with the learning from the MCBhB course to show the primary and secondary care interface.

GP Enhanced carries into years 4 and 5 with the delivery of the core teaching.

Years 4 and 5 - Senior Years

In Year 4 and 5 we provide you with an immersive experience within a General Practice. This placement varies in length depending on your year group. GPCME also provide online and face to face teaching to help prepare you for your time in practice.
