NurseLIFE (Nurses’ Lifestyle, Food and Exercise) Study

NurseLIFE (Nurses’ Lifestyle, Food and Exercise) Study

NurseLIFE

NurseLIFE is a one year (2019-2020) Scottish Government funded project investigating why nurses often experience greater challenges than others in maintaining a healthy body weight. The study aims to build up a detailed picture of when, where and why nurses eat particular foods, spend time active or inactive, and experience high levels of demand, stress and fatigue so that we can work out when and where nurse health can be better supported.

Take part

Nurses based anywhere in Scotland – Take part in our online survey. The survey takes about 20 minutes and asks about food consumption, physical activity, sedentary behaviour, stress, fatigue and perceived demands at different times of the working week. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win £100.

Complete the survey

Nurses based in NHS Grampian – Nurses based in Grampian can also take part in an in-depth study running in Aberdeen. Taking part involves completing a brief questionnaire, wearing an activity tracker for 7 days and using a smartphone (which will be provided) to make brief reports every couple of hours over 7 days about food intake, mood, stress, fatigue and demands.
