Rheumatic fatigue is a principal determinant of poor quality of life and work disability among patients with rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease. Unfortunately, its underlying mechanisms are unknown and therapeutic options limited.
This translational programme of research aims to better understand and manage rheumatic fatigue. A developing suite of multi-disciplinary studies seeks to:
- Evaluate the roles of biological and psycho-social factors in the development of rheumatic fatigue
- Test the effectiveness and safety of rheumatic fatigue alleviating interventions
