- Tell us about your role at HSRU
-
My role is to be the main point of contact for all HSRU staff and visitors. If a staff member needs administrative help I’m on hand, and if there is a meeting or event going on in HSRU, then I’ll know about it!
- Tell us a bit about your background and what you do now
-
I worked in the catering trade before having my sons and when the boys started school I moved into Education as a School Support Assistant and Pupil Support Assistant. You would find me in the office in the mornings and the playground and classroom in the afternoon.
After raising my family and working with children for 14 years, it was time for a change and I joined HSRU in 2014.
I’m kept very busy in my current role and as well as carrying out my reception duties, I am also responsible for arranging travel, assisting with room bookings, ordering catering and processing invoices.
- How do you usually start your day?
-
I start my day with a run before heading to work where I have breakfast. The work day starts by reading and responding to emails and checking the diary for the days meetings and planning for the day ahead.
- What is your favourite thing about your job?
-
I love the variety of my job role and that no two days are the same. That and the fact that I work with great people.
- How do you relax outside of work?
-
When I get time, my favourite way to relax is to go walking down the beach to blow the cobwebs away. I also enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my family and looking after the ‘granddog’!
- What was the last thing you posted or liked on social media?
-
My son just turned 30. We celebrated this by taking a family holiday to New York, California and Yellowstone…. so the last thing I posted was pictures from our fabulous holiday.
