On 28th November, Mairead Black will lead a workshop in Edinburgh titled ‘Shared decision-making in planning childbirth – multi-stakeholder research agenda-setting workshop’.

Dr Katie Gillies and Prof Louise Locock will attend along with leaders in shared decision-making Profs Richard Thomson (Newcastle) and Angela Coulter (BMJ/King’s Fund). Academics with related interest, clinicians, NHS managers and lived experience will all be represented at the workshop. The intended output is a clear set of research goals aimed at implementing shared decision-making on planned mode of birth into routine NHS practice. This will be in the form of a report and a blog.
