Analysis of the quality and outcomes framework

Analysis of the quality and outcomes framework of the nGMS contract in Scotland using national data

Investigators

McLean, G. (University of Glasgow) and Sutton, M. (HERU)

Summary

The patterns of achievement in the Quality and Outcomes Framework are likely to be determined by a range of factors, reflecting the characteristics of populations served, the resourcing of practices, and the structure of practices (particularly in terms of the size and composition of the clinical team). Using national data this study considered the generalisability of analyses that have identified the determinants of QOF achievement by focusing on three heterogeneous Board areas, specifically an urban area, a rural area and a mixed area.
