Summary

This research used systematic review methodology, decision analysis methods and Markov modelling. It explored the clinical and cost-effectiveness of systematic screening in a primary care setting compared with opportunistic case finding approach currently available in the UK. Modelled strategies varied by how the screening strategies were organised (i.e. invitation for Glaucoma Optometrist assessment, or for Technician assessment).
