Biography
Mesfin joined the Health Economics Research Unit (HERU) as a Research Fellow in January 2020. Prior to HERU, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Economics, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Currently, his work includes researching the impact of the cost attribute on choice behaviour using choice experiment and eye-tracking methods. Mesfin holds a Master of Science in Economics from Addis Ababa University, a Masters Degree in Health Economics and Management from the University of Bologna and a PhD in Economics from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. His PhD thesis is entitled ‘Stated preferences in health economics’, and explores the role of heterogeneity of patients' preferences in kidney transplantation in Italy and attributes aggregation in multi-attribute choices.
