Lynda first joined HERU in 1987 and holds a BA in Economics and an MSc in Transport Engineering and Operations, both from the University of Newcastle. She worked as a transport economics research officer at the University of Oxford before joining the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York as a research assistant. She worked at HERU between 1987 and 1989, and 1991 and 1992, before re-joining in 1996. Her current interests include the evaluation of genomic sequencing for diagnosis of rare disease,  interventions to improve wellbeing, especially diet and physical activity post-partum, economic and demographic factors associated with food poverty, and alcohol purchases in relation to price.
