The April 2018 issue of the HERU newsletter has been published. The newsletter covers the awards ceremony for the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education which took place in February at Buckingham Palace. The award was given to the University of Aberdeen in recognition of research undertaken at HERU, and at the Health Services Research Unit, over the past forty years. The newsletter also features:
A recently completed project, in collaboration with the University of Warwick, investigating the referral decisions that consultants make to Intensive Care Units.
A successful application from HERU researcher Patrícia Norwood to participate in the Engage Researchers Academy, a new initiative from the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement.
Reports from recent events, including a report from the Global Food Security Policy Lab for Early Career Researchers.
News of recent activity in the Unit, including upcoming events, new appointments, visitors to the Unit and new grant funding.
The newsletter also contains a short tribute to Professor Alan Maynard, who played a key role in the development of HERU, as well as in health economics in general.
