A research collaboration has been launched between HERU and the Scottish Genomes Partnership to evaluate the efficiency of Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS). The economic analysis is part of work that the Scottish Genomes Partnership are undertaking with NHS Scotland and the 100,000 Genomes Project to investigate the extent to which Whole Genome Sequencing can improve the genetic diagnosis and follow-up for rare disease patients in Scotland.
The economic analysis conducted by HERU will examine the costs and benefits of Whole Genomic Sequencing in comparison to other genetic diagnostic methods. More details on the project are available on the Scottish Genome Partnership website and at the HERU project site.
