Winter Graduation Ceremonies 2018

The Winter Graduation Ceremonies will take place on Thursday 22 November and Friday 23 November 2018, in the Elphinstone Hall, King’s College campus, at Old Aberdeen.  Application forms, along with payment, must be submitted by 4.00pm on Friday 12 October 2018:

  • in person to the Infohub
  • by email graduation@abdn.ac.uk
  •  by post to Registry (Student Services), University of Aberdeen, King’s College, Aberdeen, AB24 3FX

If you apply or make payment after the in person ceremony deadline, an extra late fee of £30 will be charged in addition to the standard fee of £45.  No applications will be accepted, for whatever reason, after 4.00 p.m. on Friday 26 October 2018 (Winter).

The Thursday Graduation ceremonies are at capacity so any applications received after the deadline of 12 October will be put on a wait list.

Please note that MRes degrees are listed under taught postgraduate degrees.

Joint Degrees

If you are graduating with a joint degree you will attend the ceremony of the first subject named in your degree title. For example MA English-Finance students would graduate at the ceremony with all other students studying English.

Summer Graduation Ceremonies 2019

The Summer Graduation Ceremonies will take place between Monday 17 June 2019 and Friday 21 June 2019 in the Elphinstone Hall, King’s College campus, at Old Aberdeen. Application forms, along with payment, must be submitted by 4.00pm on Friday 5 April 2019:

  • in person to the Infohub
  • by email graduation@abdn.ac.uk
  • by post to Registry (Student Services), University of Aberdeen, King’s College, Aberdeen, AB24 3FX

If you apply after the in person deadline, an extra late fee of £30 will be charged.  No applications will be accepted, for whatever reason, after 4.00 p.m. on Friday 17 May 2019 (Summer).

 

How will I know if I am eligible to graduate?

Your graduation tickets will be sent to you as confirmation of your eligibility to graduate. They are normally despatched a week to 10 days in advance of your ceremony.

If you do not appear to be eligible to graduate with the degree that you have applied for, please contact a member of staff in Registry as soon as possible to advise if you still wish to attend the ceremony with a lower degree eg designated instead of honours.
