Dr. Ewins is Managing Partner for Ewins & Winby, a management consultancy based in the San Francisco Bay Area providing organisation development, change management and leadership coaching. Prior to that she served as an executive in Ernst & Young's Health Care Consulting Practice, and as a partner with Global Accelerator, an international consulting and investment firm supporting high technology start-ups. 

In parallel to her consulting practice Dr. Ewins has been an adjunct professor on Ph.D. and M.B.A. courses in organisational behavior, culture change and leadership with JFK University and California School of Professional Psychology. She has also served as faculty for professional development courses at Stanford University's Continuing Education Program and Consulting Psychologists Press, and currently teaches on UC Berkeley's Extension Leadership & Management Program.

Dr. Ewins began her career as a research scientist in microbial genetics at the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine and at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London. Turning her focus to career and management development, she joined the Polytechnic of Central London as a career counselor, and later at The City University, London, when she began her management consulting practice. Career opportunities brought her to the Bay Area in 1982, where she has established her home.

In the community she has served on several professional association boards, such as Northern California Chapter of Association for Strategic Planning, the Bay Area Organization Development Network and the Editorial Board for its journal Vision/Action, and currently she is on the board of the Women's Leadership Council for United Way of the Bay Area. She is an avid art lover and serves as a docent for San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Dr. Ewins' early education was in Life Sciences at the Universities of Aberdeen and London in the UK. She earned her doctorate in Psychology from Saybrook University in the USA.
