Car free day continues to enjoy major success in other parts of Europe, but in Britain it has suffered an unprecedented collapse following the financial collapse and the cull of sustainable transport practitioners in the Government sector. In North East Scotland however the event has increased in size and importance. Why is this? How did it develop? Are there lessons and what value does it provide?
